From 1927: “Native Fishermen are working with New York artists here on plans and decorations… Financiers and authors who summer here are hanging flags and bunting with Cape Codders who have spent their lives on the dunes…
“…the USS Arkansas with 1000 men will drop her hook in the harbor….a three-mile exhibit of art all the way along the waterfront…daily concerts..a parade with floats, a pageant by school children, war dances by a group of Mashpee”
